What to Look For
Dogs and cats are experts when it comes to hiding signs of weakness, which is why it’s important to seek medical treatment as soon as you notice something is wrong.
Common symptoms of illness include (but are not limited to):
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Loss of appetite
- Incessant coughing or sneezing
- Increased thirst or urination
- Improper potty habits
- Weakness or lethargy
- Weight loss
- Extremely bad breath or foul-smelling ears
- Discharge from the eyes or nose
- Mysterious wounds or wounds that won’t heal
- Sudden behavioral changes
We may recommend bloodwork, fecal or urine tests, X-rays, or ultrasounds to help us properly diagnose the cause of your pet’s illness or discomfort. Once we have the results, we can develop an appropriate treatment plan to get your pet’s health back on track.
Chronic conditions are those that require ongoing monitoring and treatment, which might include daily medications, regular injections, and more frequent appointments and diagnostic testing. Examples of these conditions include diabetes, arthritis, renal disease, joint disease, skin diseases, chronic dry eyes, and cardiovascular problems. For every case, we partner with you to create a treatment schedule that works best for you and your pet.
Please call us at (307) 234–4343 immediately if you observe any unusual symptoms or behaviors in your pet.
