Rachel Warner

Rachel Warner
Veterinary Assistant

Rachel is a Casper, WY native who joined Hound and Katt in January 2023 as a veterinary assistant. Her previous experience was as a hairstylist for the past 21 years. She was trained in Portland, OR where she worked for the first 7 years. She then moved to California, had her twin daughters, and then moved back to Casper where she has remained. Rachel enjoys spending time with her twin teen girls, lifting, biking, and competing in cross-fit. 

Rachel has one dog named Remy. She enjoys helping with all aspects in the clinic, but excels at assisting with minor surgical procedures, urgent care appointments, and assisting our veteriarians and technicians with treatments.

Doug  Johannessen

Dr. Doug Johannessen
DVM, Owner

Dr. Doug Johannessen graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 after first receiving his masters in Animal Physiology and Immunology in 2001. He practiced in California and Montana following vet school until purchasing Westside Animal Hospital in Casper, WY in 2011. For the last 10 years, Doug and his wife Laura, have been co-owners and have together developed their hospital into a top-notch family-oriented practice all while raising 3 daughters. In 2022 they became Hound and Katt Veterinarian and moved locations to provide later evening hours and walk-in urgent care appointments.  

Dr. Doug's professional interests include surgery, dentistry, and urgent care. He works closely with the traveling surgeon Dr. Jayce Lineberger with Ace Mobile Veterinary Surgery when he travels to Casper for orthopedic and specialty surgery cases. Doug is a life-learner and is always working to improve his knowledge and skills. In his free time Doug enjoys spending time with his family, and his Bluetick Coon Hound, Ubbe. 

Laura Johannessen

Dr. Laura Johannessen
DVM, Owner

Dr. Laura Johannessen graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. She then completed an internship at San Luis Rey Equine Hospital and continued working in the equine field for the first 5 years of her career. She then made the switch to small animal medicine when she moved from an equine ambulatory position in Hamilton, MT to a small animal practice in Santa Cruz, California. In 2012, along with her husband, purchased Westside Animal Hospital and moved to Casper, WY. For the last 10 years they have been co-owners and have together developed WAH into a top-notch family-oriented practice all while raising 3 daughters. In 2022 they became Hound and Katt Veterinarian and moved locations to provide later evening hours and walk-in urgent care appointments. 

Laura's veterinary passion and skills revolve around internal medicine cases as well as wellness/preventative care. She works very closely with the in-house stem cell processing and oversees a lot of the anesthesia and technician skills training. 
In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with her family and pets, gardening, knitting, yoga, and travel.

Autumn Bulgrin
Veterinary Assistant

Autumn joined Hound and Katt in 2021 as a part-time veterinary assistant. She is an avid horsewoman who is growing her horse-training career, as well honing her veterinary assistant skills. Autumn graduates from Natrona County High School in 2023 and plans to continue to grow her horse-training business Western Skies Equine, LLC. Autumn welcomed her long-awaited Austrailian Cattle dog Cinch into her life in 2022 and they have been inseperatable since! Along with her dog, Autumn also has 3 cats (Black Cat, Calico, and Cotton-Eyed Joe), and 4 horses (Dixie, Squanto, Stetson, and Tequilla). 

Emily Randels

Emily Randels
Lead Customer Service Representative

Emily joined Hound and Katt Veterinarian at the end of 2022 in preparation for her full-time employment following graduation from Natrona County High School in May 2023. She grew up in Pheonix, Arizona and moved to Wyoming to pursue a lifestyle of hunting and fishing. In the summer she enjoys hunting, fishing, and taking her pack mules to the hard-to-reach parts of the country for elk hunting. Emily has provided in-home pet sitting for the past few years and has developed a true passion for animals. 

Emily plays an integral role with our clients and patients on a daily basis. She oversees the reception area involving patient check-in and check-out, answering phones, triaging patients, reminder calls and follow-up calls, as well as assisting with exam rooms and technical day-to-day needs. 

Devon Hendrickson

Senior Veterinary Technician

Devon Hendrickson joined our Hound & Katt Veterinarian team in December 2019. She moved to Casper from Price, UT, but has spent a lot of time growing up in southwest Wyoming. She studied Veterinary Technology through San Juan College from 2019 to 2022. Devon's role at Hound & Katt is senior technician, where she oversees and performs dental cleanings, blood draws, IV catheter placements, surgical prep and monitoring, and taking radiographs. Devon also keeps busy with teaching and training other new veterinary assistants. 

In her free time she likes to enjoy the outdoors, especially hunting with her husband Riley and their two labs Remmy and Uinta, or just hanging out with their other dog Yazzie. In the summer, it's camping and going to concerts! 

 

Kaici Jensen

Kaici Jensen
Lead Veterinary Assistant

Kaici joined Hound and Katt in early 2022. She was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming and grew up on a small ranch west of Casper where she raised a variety of farm animals.
Kaici has plans to begin her Veterinary Technician certification in 2023. She has a dog named Oakley and a cat named Clarabelle. Kaici has a love of all animals, and has an upbeat attitude that we love working around every day. She is skilled in all aspects of our clinic and may be seen answering phones, running labs, placing catheters or drawing blood work. We are blessed to have her on our team.
